The Journey of Grief

A father will always be his daughter's first love, the man by whom all others will be measured against. It is hard to accept the finality of death. When a parent dies, you lose a part of your past forever. It's a hard journey to take.

When someone dies, society allows us a few days out of our routine to attend the funeral and "have a good cry." Then we have to go back to work and are expected to carry on as if nothing has happened. In reality, your whole world has crashed down around your head. You feel empty, sad and lonely, lost and overwhelmed. Everything looks and feels broken.

Grief is the process of discovering what it means to live without someone who has been woven into your life...it's a painful journey.
